Rename this blog!

I have thought for some time now that the name of my blog is rather bland and doesn't really reflect either my personality, sense of humor or, most importantly, what it is I blog about. Because my blog posts cover a wide and often unrelated series of subjects (food, food policy, gardening, music, radio, Jewish topics, general politics and occasional personal musings), I've had a hard time coming up with a good title that captures the essence of all that.

So I'm throwing this open to all of you, dear readers. Please submit your suggestions for a better title for my blog. The winner will be chosen at my discretion and will receive my everlasting gratitude, and (if you're local), a big hug.

I don't think I have the perfect thing, but I vote for some play on the word "root," because it has the potential to refer to four of your stated interests in one title: gardening roots, Jewish roots, grassroots, and feeling more and less "rooted" as you are in mid-life.

Hmm...interesting idea. I like it. I'm not sure I'd describe myself as "rooted" in mid-life, though; more often than not I find myself mired in some aspect of being in my 40s and ask myself, to borrow from the Talking Heads, "Well, how did I get here?" :-)

If we're going to the trouble of thinking this hard, can't there be an actual prize?

; )

Seriously -- I vote for Roots And Branches.

Well, for you, bikelovejones, I can think of any number of actual rewards for coming up with a new name for my blog, but they are not appropriate for discussion here :-)

Seriously, I'm open to suggestions about free stuff, as long as I don't get stuck with postage fees and the like. Readers, any ideas?

a play on words is always nice

a bissel/bisl of roots

or a word that involves bringing random things together
a jambayala or something like that
