Farmer Obama
President Obama says he wants to set up a farmer's market just outside the White House to sell produce from Michelle's garden and give local farmers a venue for selling their food. How cool is that?
this is a really great idea to advocate for buying your produce locally - only issue might be how to tax the income from Michelle's garden (how to you price her time (and her staff) going into the gardening???) anyways in this time i think we can all agree that we need to act to keep our dear home safer from global warming.... M
I'm a free-lance writer, researcher and community organizer. When I'm not growing my own food, volunteering as a mentor for a low-income gardener, attending county Food Policy Council meetings, helping plan and organize events for Portland Tuv Ha'Aretz (Portland's Jewish connection to sustainabile, ethical food), hosting The Yiddish Hour on KBOO 90.7 fm, cooking, eating, reading, biking, blogging or sleeping, I'm probably writing classical music program notes for the Oregon Symphony. Or not.
